The universe does not care
Whether you do or not,
The stars grow old without us,
Nor does nature give a planet's damn,
We are straw to be burned in the stellar wrath.
Between heaven and earth
The solar wind blows across empty space,
Ever changing, ever the same.
The earth, the sun, the galaxy move
Along an expanding continuum.
Words lose their meaning
In the center of it all.
